OPSC Geologist Recruitment 2026 – Apply for 5 Group-A Vacancies

Age Limit

• Candidate must be 21 to 42 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
• Date of Birth should be between 02 January 1984 and 01 January 2005.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories as per the Government of Odisha rules and conditions mentioned in the notification.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Second Class Master’s Degree in Geology, Applied Geology or Earth Science from a recognised University/Institution as specified in the notification.

Knowledge in Odia

The candidate must satisfy the prescribed Odia language requirement mentioned in the recruitment notification.

Other Eligibility Conditions

Candidates must fulfil all other conditions relating to citizenship, certificates, reservation and eligibility prescribed by OPSC/Government of Odisha. Eligibility will be verified at the appropriate stage of recruitment.

• Application Fee: ₹700 for candidates who are required to pay the fee.
• SC/ST/PwD: Exempted from payment of examination fee as per the notification.
• Candidates who appear in both Paper-I and Paper-II may be eligible for refund of the examination fee, subject to the conditions prescribed by OPSC.

Selection will be based on:

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Personality Test/Interview from the written examination as per the conditions and ratio prescribed by OPSC.

📘 Paper-I: General Studies & Awareness

🪨 Paper-II: Geology

For each wrong answer, 25% of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. Since each question carries 2 marks, the penalty for an incorrect answer is 0.50 mark. No marks are deducted for an unattempted question.

Paper-I: 75 Questions | 150 Marks | 1½ Hours
Paper-II: 150 Questions | 300 Marks | 3 Hours
Written Exam: 450 Marks + Personality Test/Interview: 50 Marks = 500 Marks.
