Selection Process – SSB ASI Bharti 2026

The SSB ASI Bharti 2026 selection process is conducted in multiple stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to move forward in the recruitment process. The final selection is mainly based on performance in the written examination, followed by document verification and medical fitness.

1. Physical Standard Test (PST)

The Physical Standard Test is the first stage where candidates’ physical measurements are checked as per official rules.

• Height (General Category):
  • Male: 165 cm
  • Female: 155 cm
• Height Relaxation:
  • ST candidates: Male 160 cm, Female 148 cm
  • North Eastern & hill areas: relaxation as per rules
• Chest (Only for Male Candidates):
  • 75–80 cm (minimum 5 cm expansion)
• Important Instructions:
  • Measurement will be taken up to one decimal point
  • Candidates not meeting standards will be disqualified
  • No relaxation without valid certificate

2. Written Examination (CBT)

Candidates who qualify PST will appear for the Computer Based Test (CBT). This stage is very important because the final merit list is prepared based on written exam marks.

3. Document Verification (DV)

  • Diploma certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)

4. Medical Examination (DME)

After document verification, candidates will undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) as per government guidelines.

• Complete body check-up will be conducted
• Vision Test: Eyesight must be normal without major defects
• Weight: Must be proportionate to height and age
• General Health: Candidate must be physically and mentally fit
• No major disease or deformity allowed
• Temporary unfit candidates may be given a chance for re-check

5. Review Medical Examination (RME)

If a candidate is declared unfit in the medical test, they can apply for Review Medical Examination.

• Final decision of medical board will be binding
